The Baby Weight Battle – 1 year on

On Thursday, my little boy will be one and his mummy is STILL carrying around far too much of the weight that she gained whilst carrying him.

I looked at myself in the mirror today and was really quite unhappy with the sight I saw. The belly is big and it has to go.

Pre final dress fitting for my wedding I had started using a rather fabulous Slim Pod and had lost 7lb in 2 weeks. I then stopped as I didn’t want to lose any weight between my dress fitting and the wedding. To explain, a Slim Pod is a rather fabulous MP3 download from Thinking Slimmer. In short, you listen to a 10 min voice recording every night for a minimum of 21 days and without willpower, dieting, calorie counting, you will gradually lose weight through small changes to your lifestlye.

I realise that you’re probably all laughing me right now. I suggest you read some of the success stories from fellow bloggers, truly astounding. I’ve met some of these ladies and the weight loss they have experienced is unbelievable.

Today, I changed my Drop 2 Dress Sizes slimpod to a Drop 2 Jeans Sizes slimpod. I am more a jeans girl than a dress girl and the slimpod is more likely to work for me as it’s more in tune with me. There are many to choose from though, just pick the one best for you.

I have set my goals, will write in my diary this evening and then listen to Trevor’s dulcit tones. Each week I will aim to update on my progress. I have also taken a picture of my current body (will not be grossing you out today) and if I get to my 10st 7lb target, I will share my before and after shots with you.

Wish me luck!

Review: Peter Rabbit Organics Juices

A few weeks ago I was offered the chance to review Peter Rabbit Organic’s Juices.  Although he’s only ever had water other then milk up until now, I am keen to get him trying all different flavours so I jumped at the chance.

The main reason I was interested was because of the 3 promises that Peter Rabbit Organics made when they started out. Everything they made would always be 100% organic, 100% healthy (no added sugar, no added salt and nothing artificial) and always taste 100% delicious. Sounds pretty good to me!

I was sent their 3 flavours: Pear, Apple & Blackcurrant & Apple & Grape. Due to there being no added preservatives or sugars in the juices, they are suitable from 6 months, perfect for Sam. He just has to have them in his beaker because he’s not quite ready for a straw yet!

The juices went down a storm. He loved them, in fact, he was actually gulping them down. I’ve never heard him do that before. He now gets a carton a couple of times a week as a little treat. They’re also good on really hot days because I know that he’ll happily glug an entire carton and rehydrate himself!

I would thoroughly reccommend these juices. They’re available from Ocado and Waitrose, Asda & Sainsburys to name a few places. They also have a range of pasta sauces and fruit puree pouches too. It’s a big yummers from Sam too!

Is it still not ok to judge people when…

…it’s 10:30am and you see a wee boy in a pushchair and his mum is standing next to him with a fag in her hand that has all it’s smoke going over him and the 2 men with her are both drinking special brew. One of them has about 2 teeth in his head and claerly hasn’t had a decent meal in ages and the other has a black eye so bad that he can’t open it because it’s so swollen.

I know that we all try really hard not to judge other parents because none of us know what is going on in their lives and lets face it, what works for one family, doesn’t work for another.

If the role models that child has in life however, are those drunk and battered  people I saw on the street with him, what hope does he have to get out of that cycle?

Any thoughts? Am I wrong in the judgement that I passed on them? I’d love to know what you think.

I’m Grateful For…

I am grateful for Jamie Mills. My husband, my best friend, my rock. The man who came along exactly when I needed him, who picked me up and kept me there. Who has given me the greatest gift I could ask for in our son. Who keeps us safe and reminds me every day that as long as we stick together then we are strong and can achieve anything.

Today’s Gallery theme is I’m Grateful For… it has been chosen to coincide with the blogger trip to Mozambique with Save the Children to highlight the lack of vaccines for children in developing countries. You can read more about it here on Thinly Spread and then you must must must click HERE to add your voice to the campaign to ensure that No Child Is Born to Die.
