My Blog

Well, Tara over at Sticky fingers has set another toughie this week. A photo that describes My Blog.

My blog is mainly about my family. My little family of 3. The 2 people that have completed me. It is a random and fun and I think this photo sums it and us perfectly.

Monday Funday – Giggly giggly boy

We went on a day trip on Saturday. Sam got the giggles. It was really funny.

Enjoy!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, is the first day of the rest of your life.

Tomorrow, is the day to make up for what you didn’t do today

Tomorrow, things will be better

Tomorrow, you may learn something new

Tomorrow, I will be amazed by my son, by his joy at the new day, by his delight in the simple things around him

Tomorrow, I will once again be thankful for my beautiful family, for all I have and all I don’t have to worry about

Tomorrow, I will love the people in this picture more than anything or anyone else in the world and will love them more and more in all the tomorrows that have still to come.

Tomorrow, is a wonderful thing and I am grateful for every tomorrow that I will have.

Sam’s Taste Test 5 – Sweet Potato & Courgette Gratin

It’s been a while since Sam Sam’s last taste test, he was poorly for a while and a bit off his food and then I kept forgetting to charge the camera. However, here we are, hopefully back for the long run and we’re starting with a twist on an Annabel Karmel recipe from the New Complete Baby & Toddler Meal Planner.

The original recipe just used normal potato but we went for sweet potato as it was all we had in. I think it tastes pretty good myself, so would say that either potato will be a winner. Annabel also states that this would work with brocolli instead of courgette.

Ingredients: (6 portions)

  • 100g potato or sweet potato peeled and chopped
  • 175g/6oz courgette, chopped
  • a knob of butter
  • 40g/1 1/2oz cheddar or gruyere cheese
  • 4 tablespoons milk

Method:

  • Boil the potato until soft
  • Steam the chopped courgettes for 6-7 minutes
  • Drain the potatoes
  • Add butter & cheese to the potatoes and stir until melted
  • Puree the potato mixture with the courgettes and milk until you reach your desired consistency (mash for older babies)

Let us see what Sam made of it
