Today I am going on my Hen Do. Confused you may be, as yes, I am, already married.
However, as we snuck off for the first wedding, I did not have a hen do. I was also 8 months pregnant, it would have been the world’s most boring hen do, had there been one.
So, in advance of my marriage blessing in July, my 3 lovely bridesmaids have organised me a hen do to beat all hen dos. I imagine it will be anyway, for I have no idea where I’m going, or in fact, who is going. I do know that they have got me an “outfit” to wear on Saturday night.
I promise to post photos next week, unless I am too ashamed and if that’s the case then I will be changing the bridesmaid dresses to this…
Today I weighed myself to find I’m not the 12.5 stone I thought I was but 12stone 13lbs. Not too horrific, but an extra half stone to lose.
I went on ‘t’interweb’ to see if there were any free diet sites with recipes and lo and behold, up came Special K and their marvellous diet site.
I couldn’t believe that it was free and so brilliant at the same time. You have 3 options – My Special K Event Plan; My Special K Goal Weight Plan and My Special K Maintenance Plan.
To begin you enter your height and weight and state whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic or suffering with an eating disorder.
Step 2 is to state if you have a goal weight; a specific event or weight maintenance in mind. If you enter a goal weight, you cannot be aiming to lose any more than 10% of your body weight, it won’t let you. If you enter a date you have in mind, it warns you if you are likely to lose more than 10% of your body weight but allows you to continue. I went for date and picked 8 May to lose 2 stone 7lb.
You are then asked if you would like a 15 day kick start program emailed to you with moticational info. I said yes, need all the help I can get!
Step 4 is to choose what best describes you: I’m often on and off diets; I only diet for special occasions or events; I always eat healthily to manage my weight; I’m not really conscious of managing my weight or Other. I went for the 2nd option.
You then need to tell them whether you are single or part of a couple and whether you want recipe based meals, easy cook recipes or veggy meals. Once that is completed then you are given your meal plans which you can view daily or weekly and are interchangable with hundreds of recipes on the site should you not like the options that are given to you.
The site even has a forum and you can request buddies to help each other along the way. You can also add extra information about yourself. I input data about being a new mum and they have tailored advice to suit me. I also said I have issues with portion control and I have been given advice to help with that too.
I really hope that this site turns out to be as good as it looks, it really is marvellous for a free site. Gives tesco diets and weight watchers a real run for their money.
If you’re looking for a new body for the new year, you could do a lot worse than visiting this site!
